Tyre Nichols dying: Memphis police departmentally cost officer who allegedly used Taser throughout site visitors cease

Memphis police mentioned that it has departmentally charged one other officer after the Jan. 7 site visitors cease which despatched Tyre Nichols to a neighborhood hospital, the place he died days later.

The Memphis Police Division mentioned in an announcement that officer Preston Hemphill is being terminated and has been departmentally charged with “a number of” violations of coverage.

“On as we speak’s date, the Memphis Police Division reached a further discovering within the administrative investigation into the tragic dying of Mr. Tyre Nichols. After an intensive evaluation of the circumstances surrounding this incident, we decided that Officer Preston violated a number of division insurance policies,” the police division mentioned in a tweet.

Officers advised Fox Information Digital on Jan. 30 that Hemphill was relieved of responsibility.
