The products and providers tax (GST) income assortment for April 2023 was the highest-ever at Rs 1.87 lakh crore, the federal government stated immediately.

Final month’s gross GST assortment was greater than the earlier highest in April 2022 by Rs 19,495 crore – or 12 per cent greater than the GST assortment year-on-year.

The centre collected Rs 68,228 crore on April 20 – the highest-ever single-day assortment.

The federal government’s knowledge reveals GST assortment elevated by greater than 10 per cent each month since January 2023.

“The revenues for April 2023 are 12 per cent greater than the GST revenues in the identical month final yr,” the federal government’s Press Info Bureau stated in an announcement.

Sikkim’s GST income assortment progress of 61 per cent was the best among the many states at Rs 426 crore in April 2023, in comparison with Rs 264 crore in the identical month final yr, in line with knowledge revealed by the federal government immediately.
